Notes: Celebrate the marriage of music and dance with this exhilarating new collaborative production between two of South Australia's most acclaimed artistic groups - Leigh Warren & Dancers and the Zephyr Quartet - as they present Impulse. Set to a sumptuous score that leaps from the joyous tones of SA composer Graeme Koehne's Shaker Dances, which explores the denial of physical intimacy that inspired the ecstatic dances of the American Shakers, to the witty and sensual strains of Michael Nyman's Second Quartet, Impulse draws its name from the creative force that music lends the dancer - freeing them of inhibition and often directing their very movements. Music and dance are both fundamental expressions of our humanity and this exciting production highlights their inherent unity.
